Could Kong: Skull Island’s Director Be Teasing Talks For Fox’s Gambit Spinoff?

There might be hope for 20th Century Fox's Gambit spinoff movie after all.

Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts just recently took to social media to share a cryptic photo and it looks like the filmmaker's post might be hinting at talks with 20th Century Fox over Gambit.

Omega Underground just recently spotted an intriguing image that Vogt-Roberts put up on his Instagram Story, one that might hint at the possibility of the director helming Fox's upcoming X-Men spinoff movie.

While a simple picture of classic Marvel games might seem innocent enough, fans should note that the picture shows off quite a number of X-Men games. That's not all. The Ragin Cajun's also visible on two of the covers – one in the topmost game, and one in the bottom.

Though the image could mean something else, the signs seem to be saying that Vogt-Robert's post has a lot to do with Gambit. The X-Men spinoff already lost three of its directors. First, it lost Rupert Wyatt. Then it lost Doug Liman. Most recently was Gore Verbinski.

Despite all of its production woes, producer Simon Kinberg just recently assured fans that Fox hasn't given up on Gambit just yet. We hope that this means the studio's been actively looking for directors to helm the film.

Gambit is set to premiere on June 7, 2019. Fox's Deadpool 2 is set to premiere on May 18.
