While the Rebuild series may be over, Evangelion fans can still relive their favorite anime through music. Recently, Milan Records announced that the complete Neon Genesis Evangelion soundtrack will be released online this week.

Specifically, four Evangelion soundtrack albums will be released digitally on Friday, meaning fans will soon be able to listen to all the tracks from the original anime series, as well as the first two movies.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is arguably one of the most iconic anime ever because, despite being over two decades old, characters such as Shinji, Asuka, and Rei are still incredibly popular to this day.

Aside from its memorable characters and unique atmosphere, Evangelion is also celebrated for its depth as it explores various psychological themes.

Another factor in the franchise’s continued popularity is the Rebuild of Evangelion movie series.

Consisting of four films, this movie series is a reboot of Evangelion, which features a drastically different story and new characters.

While its story and themes may not be easily understood during the first viewing, what’s undeniable is that the series’ music enhanced Evangelion's scenes, be it the lighter moments or the heavier sections.

Though the piece of music that fans probably know (and love) most is A Cruel Angel’s Thesis, the series’ iconic opening song. This song’s upbeat melody and vocals make it contrast sharply with the show’s mood.

The opening song and the other popular tracks from the series were already released on various streaming platforms previously, but not all songs in the series are available yet. However, this will change this Friday.
