Cloak and Dagger is The Latest Comixology Series From Marvel

Cloak and Dagger is the latest Marvel property to be turned into a television series and is currently showing at Freeform. The original runaway heroes before Marvel introduced The Runaways, both heroes have received more attention than ever and the publisher wants to strike while the iron is hot by announcing a new Comixology series focusing on the duo.

And it's available right now. No, seriously it is.

Simply titled Cloak and Dagger, the digital-only series will be six issues like similar titles before it. Expect a paperback version that collects all of the chapters sometime after, which a lot of fans will appreciate since holding comic books is still a treat.

Dennis Hopeless of Avengers Arena fame (or infamy?) is writing the series, while David Messina provides artwork for each issue. The story itself is pretty vague but it seems like something from their past has returned, forcing a reluctant reunion between the two heroes.

"For years, Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen were the super hero duo called CLOAK AND DAGGER -- waging a citywide war on drugs, organized crime and corporate greed. In recent years, their crusade has taken them across the globe, fighting alongside Spider-Man, The X-Men and even The Avengers, and though they've drifted apart, a dangerous threat from their past has resurfaced -- one that will force Cloak and Dagger to reunite and come to terms with their truest feelings for one another and the past they share!"

Prior to their series, most fans associated these two characters with Spider-Man. After all, they did debut in one of his many comics out at the time, often teaming up with him to take down drug dealers. Now that the two have a series on Freeform, it will be interesting to see how fans react to Marvel's latest Comixology series.
