With things heating up between the first-year classes, some fans who can’t wait for another week can read the light novel or manga. So, here’s info on the chapters covered in Classroom of the Elite season 3.
As the show’s third season is set to be the finale of the Year 1 arc, it’s straightforward to tell which chapters and volumes will be covered in the light novel.
That’s not the case with the manga though, as this version of the story is a bit more complicated.
Which Chapters Does Classroom of the Elite Season 3 Cover in the Manga?
Classroom of the Elite began as a light novel series by Syougo Kinugasa. The first volume was released back in May 2015, and it has since gotten numerous volumes, as well as the hit anime adaptation.
Before the anime, a manga adaptation of the Year 1 arc was ordered, which began serialization in Monthly Comic Alive. As it has a monthly serialization, the Year 1 arc is not yet complete.
What makes this confusing is the fact that a separate manga adaptation began serialization in December 2021 that’s based on the Year 2 arc.
Given that the Year 1 manga adaptation is still ongoing, the anime’s third season has overtaken its story already. Based on its schedule, the manga won’t be able to catch up story-wise.
If you ask fans though, many would suggest skipping the Year 1 manga as it has some changes that many readers of the original light novel did not like.

Classroom of the Elite Season 3: Which Light Novel Volumes and Chapters Are Covered?
For fans of the anime who can’t wait to find out what happens next, the light novel is the recommended material to read.
As the first two seasons of the anime covered volumes 1 to 8, Classroom of the Elite season 3 covers volumes 8 to 11.5. That’s because these are the final volumes of the Year 1 arc.
Volume 11.5 consists of six chapters; five are numbered chapters that are bookended by a prologue and an epilogue.
Season 3 will likely end on the volume 11.5 epilogue, meaning it will hint at what fans can expect in the Year 2 arc.
Currently, there’s no word yet on a fourth season for the anime. If it does get renewed, season 4 is all but guaranteed to cover the Year 2 arc, which sees Kiyotaka Ayanokoji in his second year at the academy.
