Chris Pratt: James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Script is 'Off the Chain'

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was supposed to usher in a new era for the MCU, but after James Gunn got fired last year, the movie has come to a grinding halt. Marvel is still making use of Gunn's original script for the Guardians 3, and Chris Pratt talks a bit about it in an interview with MTV News.

Watch the short interview here:

Pratt was also asked about how it feels to be working on a Guardians project without Gunn, to which he didn't answer the question, but he does say that he's ‘loyal' to Gunn and that he loves him very much.

It's worth noting that when all the controversy came out last year, all of the main members of the Guardians cast had signed a petition for Marvel Studios to rehire James Gunn. Marvel refused, but the rest of the stars were still obligated to make a return. I guess supporters who were most vocal were Dave Bautista plus Michael Rooker who outright deleted his social media out of his outrage.

As of now, the search continues. We don't really know who Marvel is planning on hiring, but rumor has it that they approached Adam McKay who turned down the project. Fans have been calling out to the likes of Edgar Wright, Taika Waititi, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, but each of them agree that Guardians 3 is ultimately Gunn's project to finish.

Will Marvel budge eventually? We don't know. I guess we'll just have to wait. If anything, I'm completely prepared for someone else to take over as long as they pay respect to what Gunn has brought before.

No release date has been set for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
