I think a lot of us can agree that Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt is easily one of the most likable celebrities in Hollywood which is why it's extremely baffling how the Marvel Cinematic Universe actor ended up on the "cancel culture" hitlist several years back.

To give you a refresher, Pratt was accused of homophobia after reports surfaced back in 2019 that he attends a church that promotes hate against the LGBTQIA+ community. The issue even got Pratt in trouble with his fellow actors, most notably Elliot Page who lambasted him on social media.

Now, after years of silence, the Jurassic World: Dominion actor is finally opening up about the anti-LGBTQIA+ controversy that just won't seem to die. Speaking with Men's Health, Pratt clarified once and for all that the allegations being thrown at him are completely baseless.

He also said that he was never involved in the said religious institution. Here's what he had to say: "What he didn’t say then—and what he tells me now—is: “I never went to Hillsong. I’ve never actually been to Hillsong. I don’t know anyone from that church. Okay. Why not say that at the time? I’m gonna, like, throw a church under the bus? If it’s like the Westboro Baptist Church, that’s different."

It's understandable how Pratt has spent the last couple of years dodging the issue and it's pretty much his way of saying that he has nothing to explain or prove. Now that he finally broke his silence regarding the matter, I hope fans will stop harassing him on social media every chance they could.

Meanwhile, Chris Pratt is set to appear in Thor: Love and Thunder which is slated for release on July 8, 2022.
