Chris Pratt Defends Star-Lord’s Actions in Avengers: Infinity War

If there is one character fans hate in Avengers: Infinity War more than Thanos it's Star-Lord. The head Guardian didn't do a good job guarding the galaxy when he found out Thanos killed Gamora to get the Soul Stone, resulting in him attacking the incapacitated Mad Titan and waking him up while Spider-Man, Mantis, Iron Man, Drax, and Doctor Strange were trying to removing his Infinity Gauntlet.

A lot of people have been asked about the character's actions, including directors Anthony and Joe Russo. Chris Pratt, the man who plays as Peter Quill, has defended the character's actions and he makes a decent argument.

Speaking with Radio Times, Pratt was asked about the hero's controversial actions and he said that Quill acted in a very human way. The actor brings up how Quill watched his mother and father figure die. He was even forced to kill his biological father, who ended up being a celestial that wanted to live forever.

"Look – the guy watched his mother die, he watched as his father-figure died in his arms, he was forced to kill his own biological father. And now has suffered the loss of the love of his life. So I think he reacted in a way that's very human, and I think the humanity of the Guardians of the Galaxy is what sets them apart from other superheroes. I think if we did it a hundred times I wouldn't change a thing."

Fans have debated endlessly about what should have been done and who is to blame. While Star-Lord did do something stupid, it wouldn't have taken much effort to have Iron Man blast him with a non-lethal blast. Also, Nebula could have not mentioned Gamora's death but she did and it drove Quill crazy. There's a lot of blame to share.

Pratt will likely return as Star-Lord in Avengers 4, which comes out on May 4, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which has no release date.
