Chris Pratt Confirms Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Has Started Filming

Fans have been looking forward to the next installment of Guardians of the Galaxy which will mark the continuation of Star-Lord and the team's next solo adventure in the MCU. It seems like we've been waiting for too long since we haven't heard any update until last week when we learned that Will Poulter has been cast to play Adam Warlock.

Now, star Chris Pratt, who plays Peter Quill/Star-Lord, took to Twitter and confirm that filming for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has started. In the video, posted by Team Coco to promote the Parks and Recreation podcast Parks and Recollections, the actor revealed in his greeting that he is on the set of the film which is apparently on its first day.

He said at the beginning of the video, "What's up everybody, Chris Pratt here! I'm on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. This is day one. That's why these sick-ass mutton chops are back. Pretty sweet."

Based on the video, the actor seems to be in the make-up room and sporting his character's iconic hairstyle. It is always great to hear whenever a film that we've been looking forward to seeing has started filming as it is a sign that it is actually going to happen. However, it will take some time before we get to see it in theaters since it is scheduled to be released in 2023 (and luckily not affected by the recent Marvel release date delays news).

There are still no exact details about the plot of the film. James Gunn is back to write and direct. The core cast members are expected to return. There are also reports that Sylvester Stallone, Ving Rhames, and Elizabeth Debicki will be reprising their roles from the second film. While filming the third installment, they will also simultaneously shoot The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special that will be coming on Disney+.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to be released in theaters on May 5, 2023.
