Chris Evans Said to Have been Offered to Stay at Marvel as a DIRECTOR

Chris Evans is said to be saying goodbye to the Captain America role after Avengers: Endgame, but it looks like Marvel Studios has other plans to keep him around—not as an actor though.

According to entertainment news writer Jim Hill, Evans had been offered the chance to direct episodes for the upcoming Marvel miniseries coming to Disney's streaming service. This is what Hill wrote:

Interesting new development on the Chris Evans front ... To keep him on the reservation, so to speak, after "Endgame," Kevin Feige has supposedly offered him the opportunity to direct a few episodes of those limited series that Marvel Studios is prepping for Disney +.

For now, Evans only has one directing credit under his belt, 2014's Before We Go. Then again, it isn't really a new thing when an actor decides to take on the director's chair. The likes of Mel Gibson, Ben Affleck, Clint Eastwood, Jordan Peele, and most recently John Krasinski have made transitions from actor to director. Who's to say Evans can't do the same?

As for the series that Evans could direct, I'm sure he would be attached to the incoming Falcon/Bucky miniseries that's been announced. He's worked closely with the actors involved, and it could be some fitting way for him to find out his successor for Captain America. Then again, I'd be interested to see what he could bring to shows like Loki or Scarlet Witch and the Vision.

Then again, this is just a rumor, and it's still possible that Evans is completely done with Marvel. Here's to hoping he isn't.

Catch Evans in Avengers: Endgame which comes out April 26.
