Charlie Cox Weighs Who is the Best Spider-Man

Charlie Cox reprised his role as Matt Murdock/ Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home where all the three versions of Spider-Man appeared in one movie along with their respective villains and having Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland wear their respective suits feels so surreal that there is some sort of a culmination for the character.

When Charlie Cox was put on the hot seat and asked who the best Spider-Man is in a chat with Comicbook.com, his answer seems to explain how the three, if combined together, would be the perfect Spider-Man, “Look: Tobey is the original. Andrew's one of the greatest actors of a generation, and one of my best friends. And Tom is the right age, you know what I mean?”

Cox expounded on Holland’s version, “With all due respect to the other grandpas, he's youthful energy and his naivete and his excitement is like: 'Yes! That!'” Cox added that each of the renditions are different and has something unique, “So all three of them bring something incredible to that role."

In two decades, three versions of Spider-Man came out with a reboot after another. Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man is the first on film and he’s the standard that others would have to surpass; fans would argue that he is the best Peter Parker, not the hero, and that his films are the closest to the comics. For Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man, there is that authenticity in it that he feels like the most realistic version.

Garfield definitely humanized the hero and it is all thanks to his amazing acting skills, many would say he has the best acting to portray the character’s vulnerable and romantic side. His love for Gwen is really genuine, right? Aside from the fact that Garfield and Emma Watson were together that time, there is something in the acting of Garfield that made everyone feel as if they could be like Spider-Man.

As for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, he has the most youthful vibe within him. His age fits the character and his personality on and off-screen fits Peter parker’s quirks and Spider-Man’s persona. Of all the versions, the writing of his character is the best, giving him a whole lot of character development, making him more relatable, and the likes.

Who do you think is the best Spider-Man? Spider-Man: No Way Home will be out on digital sales and rental platforms on March 22, 2022. The film will be out on Blu-ray and DVD on April 11.
