Charlie And The Chocolate Factory Author Roald Dahl Getting His Own Biopic

Roald Dahl is probably one of the most influential authors in modern times, with his books selling over 250 million copies internationally. Just like P.L. Travers and J.M. Barrie, Dahl will be getting his own biopic drama.

According to THR, the movie will be starring Downton Abbey actor Hugh Bonneville, and the story will focus on Travers' romance with his ex-wife Patricia Neal. The movie will be produced by Goldcrest Films, and the managing director Pascal Degove had this to say:

"This film tracks the personal triumphs and tragedies behind the marriage of two globally known superstars. John [Hay] and David [Logan]'s excellent script is an audience-pleasing portrayal of Roald and Patricia's touching love story backgrounded by the cinematic sweep of the swinging sixties."

The production is still in very early stages, so we don't really have much information on the project — not even a working title. For now, only time will tell if the movie holds up to standards set by Saving Mr. Banks or Finding Neverland.
