Channing Tatum’s Long Overdue Gambit Debut Reportedly Finally Happening

Channing Tatum's standalone Gambit film remains one of comic book film's biggest what-if stories and since Disney's massive acquisition of Fox in 2019, the House of Mouse seemingly dashed the fans' hopes of seeing the actor's take on the beloved X-Men hero.

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe diving deep into the multiverse, the prospect of Channing suiting up as Gambit seemingly became more plausible than ever.

Now, a hot new rumor suggests that the 43-year-old star is finally fulfilling his Marvel dream, nearly 10 years after he was first cast in the role.

Deadpool 3: Channing Tatum Reportedly Set to Make MCU Debut as Gambit

According to insider MyTimeToShineHello's recent Instagram scoop, the Magic Mike star filmed a cameo for Deadpool 3. Unfortunately, key details about his rumored Gambit debut weren't disclosed so I guess we'll just have to wait for a follow-up report regarding his MCU involvement.

Late last year, rumors circulated all over the internet that Ryan Reynolds was adamant about getting Tatum on board for the project and there's a solid chance he was actually behind the actor's MCU casting.

We'd like to assume though that Channing's rumored Deadpool 3 casting is just Marvel Studios pulling another fan service act which has been the recurring theme of the Multiverse Saga since 2021's WandaVision which featured Evan Peters reprising his role as Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver.

If the latest rumor ends up being true, then it finally gives Tatum some much-needed closure after his solo Gambit film was derailed but then again, it's reportedly just a cameo appearance so we shouldn't expect him to become one of the film's central characters.

Still, Tatum's potential inclusion in Wade Wilson's MCU crossover gives the project another boost of star power. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how everything plays out.

Deadpool 3's release date has been moved up from Nov. 8, 2024, to May 3, 2024.
