Even though the Fall 23 anime season just began, the Winter 24 slate of shows is already being promoted. For ecchi fans, the upcoming fantasy anime Chained Soldier has a new character trailer that also promotes its January release date.
This upcoming anime may have flown under the radar for many, but Chained Soldier is shaping up to be a must-watch for fans looking for a not-safe-for-work show. After all, its premise is definitely not for everyone.
Shonen Jump+ Manga Chained Soldier Is Getting an Anime
Chained Soldier (or Mato Seihei no Slave in Japanese) is an upcoming anime by studio Seven Arcs of Fly Me to the Moon and Blue Period fame. It’s based on a manga of the same name that’s serialized on Shonen Jump+.
Despite being a Jump+ title, the series doesn’t have a simulpub release on Manga Plus. This is interesting given that it’s quite a popular manga in Japan as it has over a million copies in circulation.
One likely reason is that its premise is definitely within ecchi territory, making it a series that occupies the same segment as Jump+’s previous World’s End Harem manga.
Thanks to the manga’s popularity, Chained Soldier was announced to get an anime way back in late 2021. Since then, the show has received some trailers along with a bunch of information.
Among these is the show’s voice cast, which includes:
- Akari Kito (Nezuko in Demon Slayer) as Kyouka Uzen
- Yume Miyamoto (Rikka Takarada in SSSS.Gridman) as Himari Azuma
- Mari Hino (Okpa in Interspecies Reviewers) as Shushu Suruga
- Hina Tachibana (Shiori Katase in My Tiny Senpai) as Nei Okawamura
- Maaya Uchida (Angel Devil in Chainsaw Man) as Tenka Izumo

Chained Soldier Anime Trailer Highlights Main Character and Release Date
Details about the series, along with a proper trailer, were shared back in December 2022. The anime was supposed to premiere sometime this year, but its release was delayed to early next year.
With the Winter 24 season just a few months away, fans won’t have to worry about another delay as the show’s release date was affirmed in a new character trailer.
This new trailer puts the spotlight on the main character, Yuuki Wakura, who is voiced by Yuya Hirose (Yuta Hibiki in SSSS.Gridman). Check it out here:
The Chained Soldier anime will premiere in January 2024, likely during the first or second week of the month, as with most other shows.
In the US, the anime will be streamed weekly on HIDIVE.
