Censored Photos For Avengers 4 Seemingly Confirm Hawkeye’s Transition To Ronin

Marvel might have been trying its best to keep the secrets of Avengers 4 under wraps, but rumors and concept art keep on leaking online, the most recent batch of which teases new looks for Thanos and the different heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

One of the heroes with an exciting new costume in the recently leaked promotional images for the Avengers: Infinity War sequel is Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). While the image does seem heavily pixelated, the image does seem to confirm Clint Barton's transition from Hawkeye to Ronin. It is pretty hard to miss that one picture of a hooded character carrying with him a bow staff when it's sitting right next to Hawkeye in the new set.

Though it's definitely such a shame that we don't get to see Barton's Ronin design, fans are more than excited to see the sharpshooter taking on his new persona in Avengers 4. In the comics, Barton takes on the persona Ronin when he decides to rejoin the new Avengers after Civil War. Barton's predecessor, was Maya Silverman, a deaf woman with sharp, photographic reflexes. Maya originally took on the Ronin identity to investigate the Silver Samurai in Wakanda.

While we expect Marvel to tweak Barton's Ronin origin in Avengers 4 (well, if they decide to have the character change his secret identity), it's exciting to think about what kind of new look we'll get to see him in.

Though the source of these images has yet to be confirmed, Comic Book Movie reports that the leaked images have actually been used as reference photos for Hot Toy's upcoming line of figures for Avengers 4.

Avengers 4 is set to release on May 3, 2019.
