A spin-off from the original series Cells at Work!, Cells at Work! Code Black is airing back-to-back with its mother series produced and animated by Liden Films and is based on the original shōnen manga series of the same name created by Shigemitsu Harada and Ikuta Hatsuya.

Cells at Work! Code Black follows the story of the cells inside a human and they are responsible for maintaining the life and health of the person as they go up with a seemingly unending war against bodily irritants such as sleep deprivation, alcohol, stress, and smoking.

In particular, Cells at Work! Code Black focuses on Red Blood Cell AA2153 who has to learn quickly how to deliver oxygen throughout the body whilst collecting carbon dioxide despite the dangerous conditions because they fall short in staff. White Blood Cell U-1196, on the other hand, contributes to dealing with germs and viruses in life-threatening situations.

Even when they question if their task is worth it as they are undermanned and they exert more sacrifices than they should, they continue to work together with all their efforts especially when the crisis arrives to keep the body healthy.

Cells at Work! Code Black Season 1 has 13 episodes all in all and has just aired its ninth episode titled Calamity, Athlete's Foot, and Meaning of Work. Given the success of both Cells at Work! And Cells at Work! Code Black to date, it would be no surprise if the series spin-off will be given a second season.

Cells at Work! Code Black Episode 9 Recap

In Episode 9, the cells would be dealing with the Athlete's foot and what their work means. The cells were given the warning to be more vigilant especially when it comes to bacteria and viruses. Red Blood Cell AA2153 encounters Athlete's foot where they found out that the sturdy walls of the feet are full of holes making an entry for bacteria and viruses.

Despite their continuous demands and concerns of being exhausted, they realize that there is no time to rest as the body is facing a continuous fight against bodily irritants, viruses, and bacteria lurking around the environment.

Cells at Work! Code Black Episode 10 Where To Watch with English Subtitles

Cells at Work! Code Black is available to stream via Crunchyroll. Unlike the series where it sprung from, Cells at Work! Which airs in both Crunchyroll and Funimation, only Crunchyroll hosts the spin-off series.

It's just like how the drill works in other animes, Crunchyroll would give a privilege for its premium users to watch the episodes one week in advance before making it available for free and for all. The price would be $7.99 a month to get premium access.

Cells at Work! Code Black Episode 10 Release Date and Time

Episode 10 of Cells at Work! Code Black will be gracing the screens on February 28, 2021, for the premium users of Crunchyroll. As the usual setup, Episode 10 will be available a week for free after the release and that would be on March 7, 2021.

The new episode will air at midnight for those in Japan and for the US, it would be airing at 10 AM EST.
