Catherine Tate Wants To Return As Donna Noble In Doctor Who Series 12

Doctor Who has its share of memorable companions in the past but only a few could be as unforgettable as Donna Noble. After all, Catherine Tate's hilarious portrayal of the Tenth Doctor's companion was certainly ahead of its time. But is it possible that Donna will be reunited with the Time Lord soon? Tate has expressed interest in returning in Doctor Who Series 12.

Tate was recently a guest on The Jason Manford Show where she admitted that she would be interested in seeing Donna meet the Thirteenth Doctor (via Radio Times). However, Tate said that it would still be up to current showrunner Chris Chibnall.

"It wouldn't be up to me because you can't just turn up on the set uninvited. They don't like it, even with my wedding dress," Tate said. "But that would be nice."

Tate hilariously pointed out that she had actually considered showing up at the set but hasn't gone through with it. "I haven't tried. Probably all the security would still remember me," she said.

It would certainly be interesting to see how Donna would interact with Jodie Whittaker's Doctor considering that they both have excellent comic timing. If you need a reminder of how awesome Tate was with David Tennant's Tenth Doctor, check out the classic moment below.

Interestingly, Tate revealed that she hasn't seen any of the new episodes of Doctor Who just yet. Nevertheless, she has nothing but praise for Whittaker. "I know she's brilliant because she's fantastic," Tate said.

Doctor Who Series 12 is expected to air on BBC in early 2020.
