Carrie Fisher’s Brother Says She Regretted Revealing Her Affair With Harrison Ford

Star Wars legend Carrie Fisher's death back in December 2016 broke hearts all around the world. No one had expected the Star Wars princess to pass away so suddenly. Back then, Fisher was as healthy and as witty as she ever was, working on Bright Lights, a documentary focused on her life with her mother Debbie Reynolds and releasing The Princess Diarist, a memoir based on the diaries she kept when she was filming the original Star Wars: A New Hope.

The Princess Diarist also included accounts of Fisher's affair with her Star Wars co-star Harrison Ford; a narrative which her brother, Todd, says is a story she regretted sharing with the world.

Two years after his mother and sister's deaths, Todd Fisher has come up with his own book, My Girls: A Lifetime With Carrie and Debbie. Detailing the life he spent with the two most important women in his life, Todd's book reveals (via Vulture) how Carrie ended up regretting the decision to share the story about her affair with ford.

The affair, which had even been kept a secret from their mother, held a lot of weight and when Debbie Reynolds found that it had been included in The Princess Diarist, the actress voiced her opinion against publishing the story. However, it was only after the book's release that Carrie agreed that the story wasn't meant to be taken to the public.

"What Harrison and everyone else may not know is that Carrie went to mom right after the book became such a big deal and said, ‘You were right, I shouldn't have told that story.' For what it's worth, Harrison, she really did regret telling the story of that affair," wrote Todd.

The affair had been kept a secret for decades and fans were shocked when The Princess Diarist revealed that Fisher and Ford had an intimate relationship for three months on set of A New Hope. Ford broke his silence about the affair after Fisher's death, however, he remained extremely private about the matter with news outlets saying he didn't want to talk about the issue after Carrie's recent passing.

We wonder what Ford feels now, almost two years after our Star Wars princess' death.
