Captain Marvel’s Cat Might Be The Key To Saving Everyone In Avengers: Endgame

The events of Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame might be years apart from each other, but rumors have it that Carol Danvers' (Brie Larson) pet cat might actually play an especially significant role in the second and final installment in Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie.

According to a theory by CBR, Goose the Cat might be the key to saving the universe in Avengers: Endgame. Stealing fans hearts in the various promotional videos for Captain Marvel, Goose has been introduced as Carol Danvers' adorable little feline sidekick. However, what many don't know is that the kitty-kat might have more power than fans would expect from a regular cat.

If Captain Marvel were to give Goose a comic book-accurate origin, then we'd probably learn about Goose's true origin as a Flerken. Originally named Chewie in the comics, Carol Danvers' furry side-kick is actually the last surviving member of the Flerkens, an alien race known for laying many eggs and attacking using a large number of monstrous tentacles. Aside from its reproductive and battling qualities, one of the defining characteristics of the Flerken is the ability to access pocket dimensions inside themselves that include both space and time. Like squirrels that can store food in pockets hidden away in their cheeks, the Flerkens have little pouches that lead them to different dimensions and timelines.

Goose's presence in Captain Marvel might explain Carol's absence throughout a majority of the films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as her arrival in Endgame. The Flerken could even be an alternate solution to the time-traveling required to undo Thanos' snappening in the film.

What do you think of Goose being a major player in Endgame?
