Captain Marvel Star Joins Third Annabelle Film

Annabelle is set to return for yet another terrifying film. Interestingly, the doll will be terrorizing a Captain Marvel star next year.

According to Deadline, McKenna Grace has been cast as Judy, the young daughter of Ed and Lorraine Warren. The Captain Marvel actress will be "a target of the demonic doll" along with two teenage babysitters.

Grace is certainly on a roll. The 12-year-old actress will play the young Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel. She had previously portrayed the young Tonya Harding in I,Tonya and is set to appear in the Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House. Needless to say, the Annabelle sequel has found a truly talented star who could carry the weight of the movie.

The third Annabelle film will be directed by Gary Dauberman, who offered a description of the upcoming sequel. "It really picks up with the Warrens bringing Annabelle to the place where it can really no longer wreak havoc, which is their artifact room. But, of course, it turns out she can also wreak havoc there," he said. James Wan, who is producing the movie, added that it is "basically Night At The Museum with Annabelle!"

It is still unclear with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will reprise their roles as Judy's parents. Considering that the film's description includes the babysitters, the Warrens might be away when Annabelle decides to unleash her wrath.

The new Annabelle movie is just one of the several projects lined up for the Conjuring Universe. There is another planned spin-off film that will focus on The Crooked Man, the mysterious entity that was introduced in The Conjuring 2. However, there have been no updates on the project.

The still-untitled Annabelle movie is expected to begin production in Los Angeles this October. The film is scheduled for release on July 3, 2019.
