Captain Marvel Brings Nirvana And No Doubt Back On Billboard Charts

The soundtrack for Captain Marvel certainly has people feeling very nostalgic. The Marvel Cinematic Universe flick has somehow put 90s bands Nirvana, No Doubt, Elastica, Hole, and Garbage back on the Billboard charts.

According to Billboard, the Nirvana hit Come As You Are and No Doubt's Just A Girl are currently going strong on the Hot Rock Songs chart.

Come As You Are was originally released in 1992 and was written by the late Kurt Cobain. The single from the album Nevermind originally reached number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100 but is currently enjoying the number 11 spot on the Hot Rock Songs chart.

Just A Girl was released back in 1995 and became a breakthrough hit for No Doubt. It peaked at number 23 on the Hot 100 chart but has gone even higher, reaching number 19 on the Hot Rock Songs chart. It was played on Captain Marvel just as Carol Danvers took control of her full powers and faced several Kree warriors.

The Hole single Celebrity Skin, which played during the credits sequence, is currently in number 12 for Alternative Digital Song Sales. Only Happy When It Rains by Garbage also made it to number 24 with 2,000 downloads.

The Elastica song Connection, which also appears on the film's teaser, is enjoying a revival as well with thousands of downloads since the Captain Marvel premiere.

It's safe to say that the music was one of the best parts of Captain Marvel. However, it is important to note that none of the mentioned songs appear on the official soundtrack, which contains the score of Pinar Toprak.

Captain Marvel is currently screening in theaters worldwide.
