Captain America Chris Evans Goes Off on Donald Trump After Coronavirus Press Conference

It looks like Captain America isn't too happy with the way President Donald Trump and the current administration is handling the coronavirus crisis.

Last weekend, President Donald Trump held a press conference to offer Americans updates on the government's response to the wide-spreading COVID-19 pandemic that has hit not only the United States but many other countries around the globe. During the conference, Trump talked about the slashing of short-term interest rates by the Federal Reserve. Vice President Mike Pence also promised that updated guidelines over concerns about the spread of COVID-19 would be released on Monday.

While Trump's supporters seemed to be assuaged by the press conference, others weren't so convinced. That includes Marvel's Captain America actor, Chris Evans.

Taking to Twitter, Evans demanded leadership and answers from Trump, saying that America deserves nothing less from the President.

"The president just ran off stage after his rambling press conference without answering a single question. America wants answers," the actor wrote in his tweet, "America wants leadership. America doesn't want a president who runs off stage during a crisis and lets Mike Pence do all the talking."

Evans followers couldn't help but agree with the Avengers: Endgame star, encouraging the actor to go tell it to the Man. Some even tweeted that they would very much prefer to have Evans as President. Right now, the actors post has more than 25,000 retweets and 220,000 likes. It's also sparked 33.2 thousand conversations online.

This isn't the first time that Evans has been critical of Trump and the administration. The Marvel star often uses his Twitter handle to express his opinions about the government and many social and political issues.

Do you agree with Evans's sentiments about Trump's response to the COVID-19 outbreak? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
