Ever since it was announced that Harrison Ford is joining the MCU to play the role of Thunderbolt Ross in Captain America: Brave New World, fans have been speculating that his character will become the Red Hulk in the film.

After all, in the official set photo that they released a month ago, the iconic actor was seen wearing ripped pants which made a lot of fans believe that it is evidence that suggests that he will indeed transform into the red monster.

So far, Marvel Studios has not confirmed the character's inclusion in the film yet nor whether Ross will have a major transformation. In recent interviews, Ford iterated that he has no idea about the character when asked about it.

Now, we have a new comment from the main star of the film himself regarding the rumor.

In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Captain America: Brave New World star Anthony Mackie was asked whether Ford's ripped pants on the set photo indicate that he will become the Red Hulk in the film.

He clarified that Ford actually borrowed the ripped pants from him after losing his luggage when he flew to Atlanta to shoot the film.

"See, Harrison [Ford] and I go way back. A lot of people don't know this. This is our second time working together. He came down to Atlanta, they lost his luggage, so I gave him a pair of pants, but those are my work pants from working in the yard," he said.

"Harrison, he's a curmudgeon, so he goes, 'Anthony, just give me the damned pants.' And I was like, 'Alright.' So that's all that was. He just needed some pants."

If we take Mackie's words, it sounds like the story behind Ford's ripped pants in that photo wasn't as deep as we might have assumed and it doesn't say anything about his character's potential transformation into the Red Hulk.

However, there is also a possibility that he was just lying and he was making up an explanation regarding the actor's outfit in the photo in order to preserve the secret since they are obviously bound to secrecy until the release of the film.

We don't know the actual truth yet regarding the situation but, for now, we should just temper our expectations and perhaps just wait for the film itself where we will obviously find out the answer.
