Prince Harry and Meghan Markle allegedly found Camilla Parker-Bowles racist after she made some comments about their future child's appearance. However, it was meant to be a joke that even the Duke of Sussex found funny until his wife reacted, according to Tom Bower's new book.

Camilla Parker-Bowles Reportedly Joked About Meghan Markle And Harry's Future Children's Appearance

British writer and BBC journalist Tom Bower released a new book about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. According to him, Prince Harry and Prince William's stepmother Camilla Parker-Bowles joked about the appearance of his future children with Meghan Markle earlier in their relationship.

Bower said that the Duchess of Cornwall was joking about Prince Harry and Markle's baby having "ginger Afro hair," Page Six reported. Initially, the Duke of Sussex found it funny. However, his reaction changed and turned into fury when his wife found the alleged comment "racist," according to Bower's book titled Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors.

"The Sussexes’ suspicion that the Duchess of Cornwall had made racist comments about Archie had fueled their fearsome denunciation of the entire royal family," Bower claimed in the excerpt obtained by Page Six.

Prince Charles' second wife reportedly made the alleged comment after Prince Harry and Markle's relationship was made public.

"During those weeks, Harry met Charles and Camilla at Clarence House. In Harry's version, the conversation alternated between serious and joking and touched three topics," Bower continued.

"First, Harry was told that Meghan should continue with her acting career. Second, Scotland Yard could not automatically be expected to pay for his girlfriend's 24-hour protection," the author continued. "And third, according to Harry, someone speculated about what his future child would 'look like.' In one version, Camilla remarked, 'Wouldn't it be funny if your child had ginger Afro hair?'"

Prince William's brother allegedly "laughed" at his stepmother's remarks. However, "Meghan’s reaction to that conversation turned Harry’s amusement into fury," Bower added.

Was Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Referring To Camilla Parker-Bowles In Oprah Winfrey Interview?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had spoken about a royal who allegedly raised concerns about their unborn child's skin color during their interview with Oprah Winfrey last year. When the host pressed on to name the royal, Markle said there were "several conversations."

For his part, Prince Harry said, "That conversation I'm never going to share. It was awkward.

The royal couple didn't name the royal, with Markle telling Winfrey it would be "too damaging for them." Although they didn't name the royal, the Sussexes said it was neither Queen Elizabeth nor Prince Philip.

However, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand's updated version of Finding Freedom claimed that the royal couple actually considered publicly sharing the name of the royal they meant in the bombshell tell-all. However, they changed their mind for the same reason Markle told Winfrey.

While the Sussexes wanted to protect the royal family,  GB News TV presenters Mercy Muroki and Patrick Christys were not impressed that they withheld the name of the alleged racist royal because by doing so, every member of the firm was subjected to the same allegation.

"If you are going to lob an allegation out there and a very serious allegation out there, I think just by standards, you know norms, you should name the culprit," Christys said. "Because, otherwise, you tarnish everyone with the same brush, don't you?"

Bower's newest book is already available in the U.K.
