Camilla Parker Bowles and Princess Diana couldn’t be more different from one another. But royal fans know that they fell in love with the same man: Prince Charles. However, one publication recently claimed that this isn’t the only thing that Camilla and Princess Diana had in common.
Camilla Parker Bowles, Princess Diana Favored Their Family Heirloom Over The Royal Tiara
According to Express, Camilla Parker Bowles and Princess Diana both favored their family heirloom over the royal tiara. And this is why the Duchess of Cornwall is oftentimes photographed wearing the Cubit-Shand tiara.
The headpiece previously belonged to Camilla’s grandmother, Sonia Keppel. And it was later passed on to Camilla in 1994 following the death of her mom, Rosalind Shand.
But even before the tiara was officially passed on to Camilla, she already wore it when she tied the knot with Andrew Parker Bowles in 1973. In 2006, Camilla’s daughter, Laura, also wore the exact same headpiece.
A year earlier, Prince Charles and Camilla tied the knot in a civil ceremony. But she didn’t wear the Cubit-Shand tiara. In fact, the Duchess of Cornwall didn’t also wear a different tiara to the ceremony.

Princess Diana Wore The Spencer Tiara On Multiple Occasions
According to reports, Princess Diana also favored her family’s tiara, also known as the Spencer tiara. The headpiece that she owns, as well as the one that Camilla has, are both smaller compared to the other royal tiaras owned by Queen Elizabeth.
As such, their family heirlooms are easier to use because they are not heavy on the head.
Princess Diana also wore the Spencer tiara when she married Prince Charles in 1981. The late royal wore the headpiece regularly even after her royal wedding as a tribute to her family.
Other than the Spencer tiara, the Princess of Wales also famously wore the queen’s Lover’s Knot tiara on multiple engagements.

Camilla Parker Bowles Says Being Criticized By The Press Wasn’t Easy
Meanwhile, Camilla and Princess Diana made headlines recently after the former seemingly weighed in on what it was like during the peak of her affair with Prince Charles.
While speaking with Vogue, Camilla admitted that it was just a difficult time in her life.
“It’s not easy. I was scrutinized for such a long time that you just have to find a way to live with it. Nobody likes to be looked at all the time and, you know, criticized, but I think, in the end, I sort of rising above it and get on with it. You’ve got to get on with life,” Camilla said.
In 2017, Daily Mail quoted Camilla as saying that the days when she was reviled by the press were horrid.
“It was horrid. It was a deeply unpleasant time and I wouldn’t want to put my worst enemy through it. I couldn’t have survived it without my family,’” she said.
Camilla was accused of destroying Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage. But after her death, several royal experts revealed that Prince Charles and Princess Diana were already having problems a long time ago.
During his controversial 1994 interview, the heir to the throne finally admitted to having an affair with the Duchess of Cornwall. But Prince Charles stressed that this only happened after he realized that his marriage to Princess Diana could no longer be fixed.
