The show is based on the Manga series Mitarai ke, Enjou Suru, which was written by Moyashi Fujisawa. The literal translation of the Japanese title is the same as the English title.
Burn the House Down follows the story of a young woman seeking revenge after her childhood home burned down to flames 13 years ago. In the present, Anzu Murata aims to prove that her mother was wrongfully accused over the incident.
To do so, Anzu lands a job as a housekeeper for her stepmother, who she believes had something to do with the fire. She just has to look for evidence to prove her guilt.

Who Stars in Burn the House Down?

Mei Nagano
Mei Nagano stars as the protagonist, Anzu Murata. In her character description, Tudum describes Anzu as:
"She’s never believed the accepted story that her mother is the one who started the fire. And now, if Anzu can cut through the layers of intrigue and influence (both IRL and online) she’s swept into, she’ll finally get her chance to clear the air and get her revenge.”
Aside from Burn the House Down, Nagano stars in And So the Baton Was Passed, Maternal Instinct, and Half Blue Sky.
Kyôka Suzuki
Kyôka Suzuki stars in the show as Makiko Mitarai, an influencer who became Anzu's stepmother. She is also the owner of the house where Anzu works as a cleaner.
Aside from this show, Suzuki has starred in Zoo, Sanada Maru, and The Kiyosu Conference.
Yuri Tsunematsu
Starring as Anzu's younger sister, Yuzu, Yuri Tsunematsu is no stranger to Netflix shows. In fact, she also starred in the popular series, Alice in Borderland. Her other shows include OOO, Signal 100, Sakurada Reset Part II, and many others.
Michiko Kichise
Playing the role of Anzu's mother, Satsuki, is Michiko Kichise. Since the fire, she has been hospitalized with severe memory loss. She is also accused of starting the fire.
Her TV shows include Signal, Love Affairs in the Afternoon, and Nice Flight!
Mitsuhiro Oikawa
Mitsuhiro Oikawa also stars in Burn the House Down as Anzu's father, Osamu. In the present, he is married to Makiko and hasn't seen any of his daughters for 13 years.
He has starred in Super Hero Taisen GP: Kamen Rider 3, Erased, Cutie Honey, and many others.
