Bumblebee Star John Cena Apologizes to The Rock Now That He's a Movie Star

He might be making his name in Hollywood these days but many of us will forever associate John Cena with the WWE. As someone who grew up watching John Cena wrestle, it's pretty surreal seeing him appear less in the ring and doing more movies but that's the way life works. In a way, it makes his previous comments against The Rock hypocritical as anyone who saw their rivalry a few years back will remember how heated and personal it was.

Seems like Cena is now aware of the hardships that comes with being a Hollywood actor, as the Bumblebee star has issued an apology to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The apology came from a video interview with Chris Van Vliet, as the 16-time WWE Champion now knows how hard it is being a Hollywood actor.

"From a genuine standpoint, if you're taking it from more than entertainment, if you're taking it for 'okay, what you said was absolutely personal,' I'm sorry, I was wrong, and I spoke out of ignorance. When you do a movie you are not allowed to do anything else. Because if I godo Monday Night Raw and Seth Rollins putsmy nose over here, that messes up the movie. And not just like 'well, you've messed up the movie.' People don't understand, there are 150 people on a movie set who are financially dependent on that movie getting done on time, that movie moving costs everybody money and sets the movie up to fail, which means we don't get to do another movie, which means these people don't get to make money. This is their livelihood."

During the buildup to WrestleMania 28 and 29, Cena would often call out Johnson for being an insincere actor who didn't have the same passion he did for the WWE. Now that Cena is in the same shoes as Johnson, he now knows the amount of pressure it takes to be in Hollywood whilst also being an active WWE superstar, as Cena can no longer afford to get injured as an entire production may have to be rescheduled because of it.

It's pretty surreal seeing Cena apologize for his actions but it does show how much he's grown as a human being. Since he's basically a part-timer in WWE now, it will be interesting to see if he will break Ric Flair's record and be a 17-time World Champion or continue making Hollywood movies.

Bumblebee, Cena's latest movie, comes out on December 21.
