For years, Emmy-winning actor Bryan Cranston has been fan cast to play Lex Luthor in the DC franchise. While he would have been a great choice since he is a talented actor, the reason why he's being suggested to take on the role is due to his bald appearance in Breaking Bad.

So far, none of it has come to fruition as the actor has not played the role yet and it looks like he won't be portraying the iconic villain in any capacity anytime soon.

Since he is one of the popular choices for the role, some are wondering whether he is actually interested to play the character and what he thinks of the fan cast.

In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast (via The Direct), Cranston was asked whether he felt that he was being fan cast to the role of Lex Luthor due to his bald look in Breaking Bad and whether there were actual conversations for him to play him.

However, the Emmy winner expressed his dismay over the fan cast and called it "lazy" and also revealed that he was never in talks to play the role at all.

"Not that I know of. I did Jim Gordon in the animated Batman thing. And that was fun. I think it was - I think you’re right, I think it was, like, lazy casting," he said.

"There should be a, like, 'lazycasting.com.' And I was like ‘what is it?’ Because I had a bald head, they go ‘Ah! Lex Luthor!’ It’s like, come on. Let’s think about this a little bit."

For those who are hoping that Cranston will play Lex Luthor in Superman: Legacy or any other DC project, it sounds like you might have to put your hopes down as the actor is now seemingly no longer interested to portray the character at all.

It is also understandable to hear his frustration since having a bald look does not really constitute or provide a good argument on why he should play the role.

After all, actors who played Lex Luthor in the past have proven that you don't need to have a bald look to play the character. Obviously, Cranston would still be a good choice, but there are also more actors that are qualified.
