Brian Michael Bendis Teases Superman Revealing His Secret Identity With New Superman #17 Art

Superman #18 is expected to be a landmark issue for the character since he will be revealing his identity to the world. DC Comics is hyping up the event big time, hence the advertising in advance and urging fans to pick up Superman #18, Superman: Heroes #1, and other titles. It seems like fans shouldn't skip out on the previous issues since Superman writer Brian Michael Bendis has actually hyped up the issue before he reveals his identity in Superman #17.

When asked by a fan if Superman #17 will be important to the whole identity-revealing thing, Bendis confirmed that fans shouldn't miss out on it and even shared new art from renowned comic book illustrator Kevin Maguire. It's a beautiful splash page that will have fans talking and will likely be the wallpaper to many of our laptops/computers.

Having Superman use his enhanced vision to check on his fellow heroes is interesting and how this factors into his eventual identity reveal should get people talking. Hopefully, they stick the landing since this is far from the most original concept in the world and will likely be retconned when a new creative team is announced for the long-running comic book.

Fans will be able to pick up Superman #17 next month, while Superman #18 is currently scheduled for a December release.
