Brad Bird: More People are Telling Him that Tomorrowland is Becoming a Relevant Film

Brad Bird managed to wow audiences when he moved from animation to live-action with Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, but he somehow stumbled with the release of Tomorrowland back in 2015. Three years later, Bird reveals that more people are actually slowly starting to appreciate the movie, and have been telling him that it has become ‘relevant' in this current day and age.

A fan had recently come out to tell Bird about his appreciation for the movie. This is the exchange:

When the film came out, it was absolutely slammed by critics for having a weak moral by the end of the film as well as thinking that it was nothing but a shameless promotion for another Disneyland attraction. Now that the movie has aged quite a bit, a lot more people have been coming out to celebrate the merits of Tomorrowland, and its ultimate message of being positive.

It should have come as a shock to Bird that Tomorrowland wasn't received so well. After all, he did turn down the chance to direct Star Wars: The Force Awakens so he could make this movie. Bird has made a triumphant return with The Incredibles 2, but I'm hoping that Lucasfilm taps him one more time for a live-action Star Wars movie.

Tomorrowland is now available for home video.
