Scottish Magic: The Gathering professional player Brad Barclay won the Zendikar Rising Championship this past weekend with his Historic Azorius Control deck, defeating Autumn Burchett's Mono-Red Goblins two matches to zero in the Grand Finals of the three-day tournament.
After 16 rounds of swiss between 8 rounds of Historic and 7 rounds of Standard, Barclay entered the Top 8's Historic double elimination bracket as the third seed while Burchett entered as the first. Barclay and Burchett faced off in the upper bracket finals, and Barclay won two games to one, bringing Burchett down to the lower bracket finals.

This is Barclay's first top finish in an MTG tournament, and he finished the event without losing a single match in Historic. Congrats to Brad Barclay for winning the Zendikar Rising Championship!
