Box Art and Release Window for Castlevania Season 2 Blu-Ray Revealed

While we're all waiting for Netflix's Castlevania Season 3, series writer Warren Ellis has revealed some new details about the Castlevania Season 2 Blu-Ray and DVD. Though fans can easily check it out on Netflix, those that want to own the series in some way can do so by buying the home releases of this show. It seems like the Blu-ray for Season 2 could be a fun purchase for fans, thanks to the excellent box art and some extras teased by the writer.

On his website, Ellis teased that series actor Richard Armitage actually ad-libbed some of the swearing Trevor Belmont says in the show and revealed that the second season's home release has an autumn release window. Ellis also said that the third season is currently being worked on, though it's not yet clear how many episodes there will be. Season 1 only had four, while Season 2 had eight, so it wouldn't be too hard to believe that Season 3 will have 12.

Pokemon: Detective Pikachu might be the best video game movie but Castlevania has to be the best video game adaptation ever. Ellis manages to write some intriguing characters, while the plot itself manages to stay engaging and violent. The show never shies away from gory imagery as we've seen people get beheaded, beaten, stabbed, and so much more.

It will be interesting to see how Ellis and the rest of the show's production keep this show going. Sooner or later, the show will have to end, unless they have multi-generational plans with other Belmonts. For now, fans should just enjoy what we have.

Castlevania can now be streamed on Netflix. The second season will be available on Blu-ray in Autumn.
