What Happened Before Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 262?
In Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 261, Kawaki Enters The Ninja Academy, Kawaki and Himawari are welcomed by Iruka and Naruto at the academy entrance ceremony.
Unbeknownst to others, Kawaki is there for a top-secret mission guarding the princess of the Land of Bamboo, Kae Yukiwari, because there are assassins targeting her for the king of the country to choose another heir.
Iruka is the only one who knows the real reason for Kawaki's stay at the academy. The whole class introduce themselves and Himawari and friends get to know Kae more.
Naruto previously advised Kawaki to befriend Kae so he thought of asking her for some taiyaki but the others thought Kawaki is just hitting on Kae. Himawari even tells Kawaki that Kae likes romance novels.
In the afternoon, Kawaki follows Kae to the rooftop and Eiki Fuuma, police chief Koutarou's son, wants to impress Kae by proving to her that Kawaki is dangerous.
To do this, Eiki steals a summoning scroll so he could "protect" Kae but he loses control of it, knocking him out. In turn, Kawaki defeats it to really protect Kae and that made them friends.
However, at home, Himawari overhears the conversation of Kawaki and Boruto as the former reports his mission to the latter.
