Boba Fett Actor Berates Disney For Slave I Name Change

In case you missed it, Disney has decided to rename the infamously named starship Slave I into the more tame "Boba Fett's Starship." Although most fans are taking the news well, there's one person who isn't happy with the change. The actor who played Boba Fett in Star Wars: A New Hope Special Edition has berated the House of Mouse for deciding to rename his ship.

As previously reported, a new LEGO Star Wars set called Boba Fett's Starship (75312) was unveiled at LEGO CON 2021. This is a surprising change since the ship was labeled Slave I in the previous LEGO sets. When asked, the creative team behind LEGO Star Wars stated that Disney decided to rename the ship.

The name change was met with surprise, confusion, and a few hilarious memes. However, Boba Fett actor Mark Anthony Austin isn't laughing about the revelation and has taken to social media to express his disappointment.

Austin, who proudly portrayed the bounty hunter in A New Hope Special Edition, went as far as slamming Disney for buying Star Wars in the first place and making all the unnecessary changes.

Interestingly, Austin isn't backing down and is refusing to call the starship anything but Slave I. He then posted several artworks to celebrate the original name of Boba's ship.

For now, Disney and Lucasfilm have not commented about the issue. In the meantime, Boba Fett's Starship (75312) will be available starting August 1, 2021. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
