Taking inspiration from this, Bloodhounds follows the story of two aspiring boxers who are out to face loan sharks who have taken advantage of those in need.
One of their victims is Kim Geon-Woo (played by Woo Do-Hwan)'s mother, who doesn't have a way to repay their contract.
When she is unable to repay her loan, the loan sharks go after her shop and threaten her.
Geon-Woo and Hong Woo-Jin (played by Lee Sang-Yi) go after Smile Capital's CEO, Kim Myeong-Gil (played by Park Sung-Woong).
It doesn't help that Myeong-Gil executes those who are unable to repay him. Some victims feel so hopeless that they end up taking their lives.
Both Geon-Woo and Woo-Jin are determined to help those in need. To succeed, they need to trust each other.
Is the Bloodhounds K-Drama Based on a Webtoon?
Yes, Bloodhounds is based on a webtoon called Sanyanggaedeul. The webtoon was written by Jung Chan, who originally published it on Naver.
Is There Romance in Bloodhounds?
Most K-Dramas include a short romance in their storyline. The kind where the main character gets swept off his feet by a woman. But if you're looking for something similar in Bloodhounds, you'll be disappointed.
The show steers clear of any romance. Instead, it focuses on the bromance between Gun-Woo and Woo-Jin.
