Blizzard President's 'Apology' During BlizzCon Criticised by Fans

During BlizzCon, we saw the Blizzard President J. Allen Brack "apologize" to the fans about the big Blitzchung fiasco but did so in the vaguest way possible. As if that wasn't bad enough, they hoped everyone would forget about the whole fiasco with the announcements of Diablo IV and Overwatch 2. Needless to say, fans are pretty pissed about the whole thing and are letting their thoughts be known on social media.

Sometimes, voicing your outrage is all you can do, even if it doesn't lead to anything.

YouTube personality YongYea posted a lengthy video about the fan backlash about this supposed Blizzard apology, pointing out how they won't lift the suspensions of Blitzchung and the two Taiwanese casters who just interviewed him. Fans on Twitter have also let their voices be heard, claiming that the apology doesn't feel sincere or mean much in the long run.

There are fans who pointed out how some supporters are on Blizzard's side again, even though an Overwatch League coach was forced to delete his Tweet about supporting Hong Kong. This is pretty bad since Brack said people were allowed to express their political views on their social media, with this post proving that isn't the case at all.

Honestly, it's disappointing to see a company claim that "every voice matters" since that isn't the case at all. While we don't blame the developers since they just want to make a great game, it seems like this company needs to re-evaluate their values.

Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 were announced during BlizzCon but no release date has been given.
