Bleach made a huge splash when it returned with Thousand-Year Blood War, but the excitement calmed down a bit for its second cour this season. Now, the hype is picking up again as Bleach: TYBW is getting an hour-long finale for Part 2 this September.
Recently, it was announced that TYBW’s second cour will air its final two episodes consecutively for a one-hour-long broadcast in Japan.
This should also mean the last two episodes will be available on streaming platforms on the same day.
While this is great news, the trade-off is that fans will need to wait a bit longer for the show’s next episode.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Episode 22 Gets Delayed
The Summer 23 anime season started off with a bang as shows like Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 and Mushoku Tensei Season 2 sparked a lot of conversation online.
Sadly though, anime fans got a bit of a repeat of the Winter 23 season as many shows were affected by delays. For starters, Jujutsu Kaisen went on a three-week hiatus and will only return later this week.
Then there’s Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, an anime that got a lot of attention but was quickly derailed by numerous delays. In fact, it’s kind of like the Nier Automata anime of the season as its last three episodes are delayed indefinitely.
Now, the next anime to get hit with a delay is Bleach: TYBW. Specifically, Episode 22 was supposed to air this Saturday, but its release has been moved.
Bleach: TYBW Episode 22 is now set to release in the following week. A compilation of Part 2’s first half will air instead on the 22nd.

Bleach: TYBW Part 2 Reveals Hour-Long Special for Final Episodes
From the looks of it though, the rest of the anime’s episodes will not be delayed. And at the end of September, fans will be treated to an hour-long finale broadcast.
Specifically, Bleach: TYBW Episodes 25 and 26 will air on September 30. This is similar to what happened in Part 1 as the first cour also got a special hour-long final broadcast.
These hour-long broadcasts are becoming increasingly popular, whether it’s for an anime’s premiere or finale.
For instance, Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc had both an hour-long first and last broadcast.
Bleach: TYBW Part 2 is expected to air its next episode on September 9, 2023.
