While Part 2’s release is a bit over two months away, Volume 1 of the Bleach: TYBW Blu-ray has just been released in Japan, and fans noticed that it features lots of corrections.

Changes in anime Blu-ray releases aren’t anything new as this is a well-documented thing that has been going on for years now.

After all, the time between an anime’s broadcast and Blu-ray release gives animators time to improve scenes.

Some shows only get some minor revisions, but from the looks of it, the new Bleach anime has a lot of them.

Thousand-Year Blood War is the long-awaited return of Bleach after nearly a decade.

Following the broadcast of its first 13 episodes in Fall 2022, the series took a break and will be back in Summer 2023.

Unlike other Fall 22 shows which quickly got Blu-ray releases, it took some time for the Bleach: TYBW Blu-ray to be released, but there’s a good reason for it.

Compared to other titles, TYBW has a generous Blu-ray version as the first volume features all 13 episodes of the first cour.

For reference, other shows only feature a couple of episodes per Blu-ray volume.

Take for instance Bocchi the Rock! which has multiple Blu-ray volumes that only feature two episodes each.

Fans may have to wait a while for an international English Blu-ray release, but some dedicated fans have already gotten their hands on the Blu-ray.

Now, many are sharing the major changes that they found.

On Twitter, many Bleach fans have begun sharing the differences between the Blu-ray episodes and the broadcast/streaming versions.

From the looks of it, the changes are fairly minor for each scene. Some feature just slightly different colors while others had noticeable fixes.

For instance, Yhwach’s facial hair has been corrected in his flashback scene as the broadcast version features him with his mustache.

Meanwhile, the Blu-ray version features him with a more clean-shaven look.

While many fans are happy with the fixes, there are some changes that fans have mixed feelings about.

For example, there are scenes where Ichigo’s eyes have been made rounder and more cartoony, which not everyone is a fan of.

Overall though, these changes are mostly on the visual side, meaning fans who watched the broadcast version shouldn’t feel shortchanged.

Bleach: TYBW Returns with Part 2, which premieres in July 2023.
