The Burn the Witch manga takes place in the same universe as Tite Kubo’s epic saga, Bleach. But is there any connection between Bleach and Burn the Witch?

What Is the Plot of Burn the Witch?

Burn the Witch is set in London and is divided into Front London and Reverse London.

They share almost identical architecture but possess vastly different lifestyles and knowledge of each other.

In the history of London, 72% of deaths have some or the other connection between dragons and mythical creatures invisible to most.

But there are few individuals from Reverse London who can see them.

Also, there are a select few among them who are qualified to become wizards or witches to interact with these creatures.

The story follows the witch duo Ninny Spangcole and Noel Niihashi, who work as protection agents for Wing Bind.

This organization is dedicated to conserving and managing London’s dragons for the safety of its residents.

Is Burn the Witch Connected to Bleach?

Burn the Witch is technically a sequel to Bleach, but it is set in a different place in the Bleach universe.

Burn the Witch was first released as a one-shot with 62 pages in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on July 14, 2018.

The series might be in the same universe, but Kubo has expanded the world of Bleach with new characters in an absolutely new setting.

The events in Burn the Witch take place 12 years after the Thousand-Year Blood War arc featuring the Quincy Blood War and two years after Bleach Chapter 686.

It is interesting to note that Burn the Witch is not taking place in the Soul Society but in modern-day London.

The SSWB in the series stands for Soul Society West Branch, so there is some connection between the series.

However, the characters from Bleach appearing in Burn the Witch seem a bit unlikely at the moment.

It is possible that Ichigo Kurosaki might appear in the future to meet Ninny and Noel to assist them on a mission, but it cannot be confirmed if Kubo will attempt something like this.

Also, Reverse London looks like a fantastical dimension and it is possible for its residents to travel into other dimensions inside the Bleach universe using the Coin Gate and the telephone booth.

For now, the Coin Gate is used by residents to travel between Reverse and Front London.

It will be interesting to see if, in the future, Ichigo and other Soul Reapers from the Soul Society team up with the witches and wizards of Reverse London.

Also, seeing the Shinigami from Bleach in action in London would be mighty cool.
