The K-fever has undoubtedly taken the world of entertainment by storm and apart from music, South Korean acts have also dominated film and television. From BTS to Squid Game, Koreans have long proven that they have a place in Hollywood.

Unsurprisingly, the Marvel Cinematic Universe caught on the trend and according to a recent rumor, one of K-pop's biggest recording artists and BLACKPINK member Jennie Kim landed a coveted role in the billion-dollar franchise.

Over the weekend, reports swirled all over the web that Jennie is the latest Korean star heading to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to Allkpop, the 27-year-old singer-actress has been cast as Seol Hee aka Luna Snow, a character that was created for the hit mobile game Marvel Future Fight.

She would soon make her official comic debut in War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas #1 from writer Greg Pak and artist Gang Hyuk Lim. For those unfamiliar with the character, Luna Snow is a former K-pop-idol-turned-superhero who has ice-based powers.

However, YG Entertainment, the company that handles BLACKPINK quickly denied the rumors (via Soompi), saying: "It is not true that Jennie received an offer to star in a Marvel project."

Of course, there's a strong chance Jennie's representatives are just playing coy on the matter to prevent spoilers and with the level of secrecy that goes into Marvel projects, it shouldn't come as a surprise.

If you may recall, Itaewon Class actor Park Seo-joon's agents also denied his involvement in The Marvels until the official trailer for the Phase Five film dropped, confirming his casting.

Going back to Jennie, she just kickstarted her acting career in Hollywood, appearing in HBO's hit series The Idol so the idea of her wanting to add more acting projects to her resume makes complete sense.

Meanwhile, Marvel's next streaming show Secret Invasion premieres on June 21 on Disney+.
