BLACKPINK reached a new milestone as TIME Magazine named the girl group the 2022 Entertainer of the Year.

As the biggest girl group in the world, BLACKPINK continues to become the most successful K-pop group of its generation. The YG Entertainment artist has been breaking records and creating history with its albums, songs, and other deals.

Before this year ends, the girl group officially added another title under its belt.

BLACKPINK Scores TIME Magazine's 2022 Entertainer of the Year

Jennie, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo made BLINKs proud again as the four-piece group made history by becoming this year's 2022 Entertainer of the year.

On TIME Magazine's website, it shared a special article dedicated to the girl group to mark a new milestone in its career. It also detailed the most notable events BLACKPINK experienced this year, including the release of Pink Venom and the launch of the 27-date world tour.

BLACKPINK also dropped its highly-anticipated second studio album, Born Pink, in September. It has since become its best-selling album after selling over 2 million copies. The members are also in the middle of the sold-out Born Pink world tour.

On top of these, the girl group dominated YouTube, as well, by having over 83 million subscribers.

"You don't accomplish all that by being like other pop groups. Most have a limited life span: they age out, flame out, or see one member rise above. But Blackpink has managed to become the biggest girl group in the world precisely by allowing its members to be solo stars in their own right," TIME said.

BLACKPINK officially became the second K-pop act to score the title, following BTS, who got it in 2018.

Aside from that honor, it also made its way to another list.

Joining BLACKPINK on the magazine's piece include NewJeans, SEVENTEEN, IVE, Stray Kids, aespa, BTS Jin, NCT 127, BIGBANG, LE SSERAFIM, TWICE's Nayeon, (G)I-DLE, and PSY (featuring BTS Suga).
