Black Widow Prop Mistake Spotted by Fan Goes Viral

Mistakes happen in movies and TV shows whether it's a continuity error, anachronism in props, geography error, revealing mistake, unsynchronised audio, and many more. The general audience doesn't usually notice them whenever they watch a movie unless it's really glaring. But whenever they spot one, they usually let it pass and it doesn't affect their entire viewing experience at all.

Now, a prop mistake in Black Widow spotted by a fan is currently becoming viral on Reddit. The said error happened during the flashback in the earlier part of the film where apparently the My Little Pony doll that Alexei was holding which Yelena brought with her wasn't accurate to the time period it was set in.

Reddit user chesterforbes, the fan who spotted the mistake, explained, "When young Natasha and family arrive in Cuba and are taken away, Red Guardian is seen holding a doll that Yelena brought with her. That doll was a Twilight Sparkle doll from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic which ran from 2010-2020. Thus that doll should not exist in the 90s. Hell it shouldn’t even exist during the first Iron Man movie. I would like to credit my 7-year-old daughter who’s watched My Little Pony more times than I can count and has so many of the toys for me ever even noticing this."

As of the time of the writing of this article, the post has received more than 3,900 upvotes and 238 comments. The mistake was just really a small one and it's not really going to affect the overall outcome of the film as it only involves a prop that appeared briefly. It's just a simple mistake by the props department who wouldn't think that the doll's time period accuracy would matter to some of the fans.

This isn't the first time that fans have called out an error in an MCU film or TV show. Recently, another fan spotted a continuity error in the opening scene of Hawkeye regarding the damage of the Stark Tower logo. Errors have also been spotted previously in films such as Avengers: Endgame, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and many more.
