Black Panther's Leticia Wright Might Join Star Wars Actor John Boyega In Sci-Fi Love Story

Talk about a match made in Hollywood heaven. Black Panther star Letitia Wright might be teaming up with Star Wars: Episode IX actor John Boyega in a sci-fi love story set in space.

According to Deadline, the Marvel Cinematic Universe actress is reportedly in talks to lead the big screen adaptation of Katie Khan's Hold Back the Stars. Wright and Boyega have been chosen to play star-crossed lovers Carys and Max who find themselves trapped in space with only 90 minutes of oxygen left to live.

If a deal is made with both major stars, they will be directed by Mike Cahill, who has previously worked on Another Earth and I Origins. We will be updating this story once negotiations are finalized.

The team-up between Wright and Boyega is certainly a welcome one. Both stars are already part of major Hollywood franchises and have a history with sci-fi classics. Wright is best known for playing the brilliant Wakandan princess Shuri in Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. However, she also got her sci-fi cred for her amazing performance in the Black Mirror Season 4 episode Black Museum.

Boyega's first claim to fame was his breakout role as Moses in the cult classic Attack the Block. However, he hit the big time when he landed the role of Finn in the new Star Wars trilogy. Needless to say, we are crossing our fingers and hoping that these two will eventually share some major screentime together.

Wright is expected to reprise her role as Shuri in Avengers 4, which will premiere on May 3, 2019. Boyega will return as Finn in Star Wars: Episode IX, which is scheduled for release on December 20, 2019.
