The entire Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom is still reeling after news surfaced over the weekend that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever actor Tenoch Huerta has been accused of sexual assault by a woman named María Elena Ríos, a Mexican saxophonist.

Now, Huerta is breaking his silence, claiming that the accusations the alleged victim is throwing his way aren't true at all.

In an official statement sent out to media outlets (via The Direct), the Namor actor denied the accusation before confirming his "consensual relationship" with the accuser, revealing that they dated for several months last year.

He said: "A false and completely unsubstantiated accusation about me has spread like wildfire - and I cannot let it go unchallenged any longer."

"About a year ago, I dated Elena for several months. It was entirely consensual at all times, as countless others can attest. And throughout it was a loving, warm, and mutually supportive relationship. After it ended, however, Elena began to misrepresent our interactions both privately and in front of groups of mutual friends."

Huerta added that their relationship ended because he wanted to protect his reputation after Ríos misrepresented their interactions, leading to him seeking the help of a legal team.

"As a result, a few months ago, I engaged a legal team to commence the appropriate actions to protect my reputation and refute these irresponsible and false accusations that can cause great prejudice and damage."

In the end, the rising MCU actor said that while he's far from being a perfect human being, there's no truth to the allegations. "Although I am by no means perfect, I know that these allegations are simply untrue. And while I will always work to improve myself, I need to contest claims that are both false and offensive. I am deeply grateful to my family and the people who have supported me and greatly appreciate everyone who is willing to look at the facts and reflect before rushing to an untrue and unjust conclusion."

As it stands, the accuser has yet to file charges against Huerta but if we're looking at another Jonathan Majors situation here, it's definitely going to be damaging for the actor who's easily become one of the saving graces of the MCU's Multiverse Saga.
