Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Producer Says Namor is The Hero, Not The Villain

Anyone who has seen Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was probably blown away by the performances of the cast. Most notably, people are loving how Tenoch Huerta played Namor who appeared to be more of an anti-hero than the actual villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel. Now producer Nate Moore is pointing out that Namor should be seen as the hero of the MCU flick.

Nate Moore recently spoke to Screenrant where he was asked what's next for Namor. Although the producer didn't share any details, he did point out that he is ready to see more of the character.

"Boy, I'd pretty much follow him anywhere," Moore said. "I think Ryan made him such an interesting character because he's not the villain of his story, he's the hero. And because he is seen as a god to his people and his goal is to protect them, that couldn't be more altruistic."

He continued, "I think the lengths to which he goes might be extreme, but if you think experientially about what he's dealing with and the generational trauma of having to be forced from his homeland and his people, I think it is—if not defensible, certainly understandable."

Moore added that this opens up a lot of possibilities for Namor.

"So, if you think about where this character could go in the MCU from here, I think there are a lot of different things he might like to do and try. Hopefully, we get to explore those stories," he said.

There have been speculations that Namor is set to appear in more projects after his debut in Wakanda Forever. Although there haven't been any updates, there is a good chance we'll get an announcement soon. Stay tuned for more news on this story.
