Black Panther Star Letitia Wright Nominated for BAFTA Award

It felt like many years passed by but Black Panther actually came to theaters last February. Crazy right? Depending on who you ask, the movie is either the best that Marvel Studios has ever put out or is an overrated flick that people are praising too much. Whatever the case, it's still a fairly entertaining movie that won't bore anyone with a number of standout moments, one of which was young actress Letitia Wright.

Playing T'Challa's younger sister Shuri, Wright impressed and entertained many with her role, managing to balance fun banter with cool sci-fi talk, her being genius and all. Because of her standing out, it's no surprise hearing that the actress has been nominated for a BAFTA Rising Star Award. While comic book fans hope she wins, the fact that Wright is nominated is an honor by itself.

Wright said the following about her nomination:

"It's an incredible feeling to be chosen by BAFTA and the jury as a candidate for the EE Rising Star Award. It means a lot that my work has beenrecognised, especially in the country I've grown up in, and that I get to share this recognition with so many talented actors."

Considering the number of fans she gained after a short bit of exposure in Black Panther, it's not too hard to see why she is getting this nomination. It will be interesting to see what she does next, though we know that an appearance in this year's Avengers: Endgame seems like a no-brainer.

Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26.
