Black Panther Fan Transcribes That Heartbreaking Journal Entry From Killmonger’s Father

Marvel fans sure have a lot of time on their hands. Not only do dedicated fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe spend a whole lot of time digging through Marvel Studios' entries to look for secrets hidden by the films' directors, but they also take time to inspect the different languages used in these Marvel movies.

One of the most recent films to get the loving meticulous eye by the fanbase is Black Panther, Marvel's first all-black comic book movie. In one of the scenes in the film, fans are able to see a young Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) reading his father's journal to know what he ought to do next after seeing the death of his old man. Though the journal entry seemed like a tool to help further Black Panther's plot, one very dedicated Marvel fan decided to take time to study the writing and transcribe the entry for everyone else.

Taking to Reddit, the fan decided to share his translation with the rest of the fanbase, and the entry turns out to be a heartbreaking introspective letter from N'Jobu to his son.

Check it out down here:

"Ungubani? Who are you? I asked this question of myself many times. Often times, I do not know. But I do know I am no longer the man my country knew. Maybe love? My son?

It has all changed me. T'Chaka must see what we can do, how we can change the course of time for the people who struggle so much in this land. Strangers to me, but my brothers and sisters still. How can I look at them, with the same skin as me, stolen from the same place I came from and not reach out to them? How can I sit idly by and watch in pain and return to Wakanda as if there was nothing to see at all?

Who am I? A war dog who will not leave the lost tribe behind again. Who are you, my son? You will ask this one day and know the answer: N'Jadaka, son of N'Jobu."

Reading this letter after seeing his old man killed at the hands of his own people, Killmonger set out to change Wakanda from the inside. Given such a heartbreaking origin and firm motivations for his actions, Killmonger has been considered to be one of the best villains that Marvel has ever produced in its movies.

What do you think of this letter from N'Jobu? What do you think of Killmonger and his circumstances? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
