Ever since it was confirmed that Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta was playing the part, MCU diehards suspected that the character will undergo major tweaks in the franchise, and true to form, that is indeed the case. Apparently, the studio is changing not only Namor's heritage but his backstory to better fit the actor's ethnicity.

So far, the reception to Huerta's casting has been generally positive and over the weekend, we finally got our first taste of his potential look in the billion-dollar franchise. Several promotional artworks for Black Panther 2 surfaced online, including Namor's "new" look.

The actor had a hilarious response to his leaked Namor images. Taking to his official Twitter page, Huerta poked fun at the spoilery artworks of himself as the Submariner by posting an image of SpongeBob SquarePants' Mermaid Man. Check it out here:

Namor will be an absolute game-changer for the MCU and I'm totally excited to see what Tenoch brings to the table. It's also great that fans didn't react violently to the massive change Marvel did to the character.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
is slated for theatrical release on November 11, 2022.
