We all know for a fact that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson takes a lot of pride in the films he's done but it's pretty evident that the wrestler-turned-actor considers Black Adam his crowning achievement so far and understandably so. The DC Extended Universe flick has been stuck in developmental hell for a full decade before Johnson, DC, and Warner Bros. could finally get the ball rolling. Now, the highly anticipated project has finally wrapped filming and the waiting game officially kicks off.

Taking to Instagram, The Rock unveiled special behind-the-scenes footage from their last day of filming and you can totally feel the emotion coursing through The Great One's veins. In a heartfelt post, Johnson took the opportunity to extend his gratitude to his filming crew for bringing their A-game during production. He also says that he considers Black Adam as a "once in a career" milestone. Check it out here:

For the longest time, the DCEU has been ridiculed for its creative direction but there's no doubt that The Rock will do everything in his power to give the franchise a much-needed boost. Given his A-list status, Johnson already gave the DC film universe a huge advantage in terms of star power but I'm pretty sure he'd be able to do so much more than just serve as the franchise's golden boy.

Black Adam is slated to hit cinemas sometime in 2022.
