Birds of Prey Set Photo May Tease a Romance Between Harley and Poison Ivy

Suicide Squad had introduced us to a Harley Quinn covered in all kinds of tattoos, and it helps flesh out her character a bit more. What's interesting is, the same tattoos kind of tease a romance between Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy from the comics.

Besides the "P+H" tattoo, Harley has also crossed out the "puddin" tats on her leg, implying that she's had a falling out with the Joker. I guess the whole movie is going to deal with their break-up as Harley's ‘emancipation' is referenced in the title.

Seeing that Harley and Ivy have a very colorful past in comics and TV, it's a neat Easter Egg to have Ivy referenced in Birds. We don't know if she'll ever appear in the movie, but there's a great chance that we could get her in a Gotham City Sirens film which is rumored to be the next entry in the "Harley Quinn" trilogy of the DCEU. The whole thing supposedly ends with a bigger team-up movie with the Sirens meeting the Birds.

While some fans may want Jessica Chastain or Emma Stone as Poison Ivy, I personally would love it if they cast Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) in the role. Hendricks has proven that she can play the sex-pot character that Ivy is best known for, and her very fuller body would give a full sense to the term "mother nature."
