Birds of Prey: Margot Robbie Wants a Team-Up with Poison Ivy

Harley Quinn may be taking center stage with Birds of Prey, but one character integral to Harley that won't be in the film (besides Joker) is Pamela Isley a.k.a. Poison Ivy. What's interesting is, Robbie is very much invested in having a team-up with Ivy at some point down the line.

Talking to ComicBookResources, Robbie says, "I've been pushing a Poison Ivy reunion for a long time… I've been really working that angle for a long time. Because obviously Ivy and Harley have such an incredible relationship, so I would love to explore that."

Though we haven't gotten a Harley/Ivy dynamic on live-action yet, the two have a very linked history with the animated series and comics as well. The most recent iteration of the relationship is in the animated Harley Quinn series from DC, and Ivy is shown to be the best friend-type who is helping Harley with her personal struggles, finding an identity outside of the Joker.

For now, there's still plenty of room for Ivy to appear in the DCEU. A lot of people think she could be part of the Gotham City Sirens film (if that ever happens). Plus, she could always come into the world of other DCEU heroes. Black Mask was essentially a Batman villain, but he's making his debut in Birds. Why can't Ivy do the same thing?

After splitting with the Joker, Harley Quinn joins superheroes Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to save a young girl from an evil crime lord, Black Mask in Gotham City.

Catch Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) when it comes out Feb. 7.
